Meals
You may have regular meals, but please avoid strong-tasting, spicy foods.
Swelling
- Most major swelling usually subsides within 1 week, but the minor swelling may persist for more than 1 to 3 months after surgery.
- For cold compress, you only have to do it until first 3 days after surgery. After that, cold compress won't be as effective so please stop using it. If bruising is severe, warm compresses can be beneficial starting from the 4th day.
Precaution when using warm compress
- You can use the compress after soaking it to be warm enough in warm water. (Do not use microwave)
- After surgery, the sensation at the surgical area and its surrounding area may be temporarily dull, so make sure to check the temperature of the compress with your other part of the skin (such as, inner part of your arm) before putting it on the surgical area. This is to prevent skin burns from occurring in the surgical area.
Face Washing, Shower & Makeup
- Face washing is permissible starting from the day of the surgery, but please be careful not to let water touch the surgical area around the facial garment or the head.
- Hair washing is allowed from 3 to 4 days after surgery. When washing your hair, refrain from rubbing the surgical area with your fingers and rinse shampoo with lukewarm water. When drying your hair, please use a hairdryer on the cool air setting or a towel, but be gentle.
- Saunas, steam bath, and swimming are prohibited for 1 month after surgery.
Exercise
Daily routine activity may be resumed from 1-week after surgery. Moderate exercise is possible from the 2nd to 3rd weeks after surgery, and strenuous exercise is possible from 1-month after.
Alcohol Drinking & Smoking
Smoking and drinking are prohibited for 1 month after surgery due to their negative effects on bleeding, wound healing progress, and infection.
