Precautions on Health Condition
- Please notify our staff or your consultant if you have any illness such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disease, etc. If necessary, you may need a consultation with our anesthesiologist and further medical checkups to ensure there will be no complications during and after the surgery.
- If you have any allergies or allergies to certain medications, please let us know in advance regarding the ingredients in medications you are allergic to or your allergic reactions (itching, irregular heartbeat, breathing difficulty, etc.). This allows us to avoid medications that may cause allergic reactions and perform anesthesia safely.
- Please notify our staff or your consultant in advance if you have a history of surgery related to the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain, or if you have undergone chemotherapy in the past.
- If you are currently diagnosed with anemia, it may worsen after surgery. If necessary, you may require further evaluation and treatment before surgery.
- Please notify our staff if you experience high fever, phlegm, cough, cold symptoms, etc. within 1 week before surgery.
- If you are currently taking medication for systemic diseases such as high blood pressure or diabetes, or hormonal medications such as thyroid medication or birth control pills, please consult our hospital before continuing them. Please stop taking medications such as aspirin, painkillers, hormonal medications, herbal medicines, and vitamin supplements for 1 week before surgery.
- Please notify our hospital in advance if your menstrual period overlaps with the surgery date. It does not affect the surgical outcome itself, but swelling and bruising may last longer after surgery.
Precautions on Alcohol Drinking & Smoking
- Smoking slows the recovery process and may cause infection in the surgical area. Smoking also increases the risk of anesthesia complications. It is recommended to stop smoking from the day you decide to proceed with surgery.
- Alcohol affects liver function. Since anesthetic medications are metabolized by the liver, alcohol may interfere with this process and reduce the liver's ability to function properly. Therefore, it is recommended to stop drinking alcohol 1 week before surgery.
Precautions Before and on the Day of Surgery
- Please begin fasting 10 hours before surgery. All food including candy and chewing gum, as well as all beverages including water, are prohibited.
- Please get a good night's sleep before surgery.
- Regarding your surgery schedule, once your surgery time and anesthesiologist have been confirmed, we will contact you after 6 PM. If you do not receive a call from our hospital, please contact us for confirmation.
- Please remove all manicure, pedicure, gel nails, and nail polish before surgery.
- It is recommended to shower and wash your hair thoroughly before surgery. Patients undergoing facial contouring surgery should brush their teeth carefully on the day of surgery.
- Male patients undergoing facial contouring surgery must shave before surgery to prevent infection.
- Please avoid wearing tight fitting clothing with high necklines on the day of surgery. It is recommended to wear front buttoned clothing. Please avoid wearing stockings or pantyhose.
- Please bring items that may help cover swelling after surgery, such as a hat, scarf, sunglasses, or mask.
- Please do not wear contact lenses or makeup on the day of surgery.
- If you are taking medications such as aspirin or anti inflammatory painkillers, please discontinue them 2 weeks before surgery.
- If you have implanted medical devices such as a pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, or cochlear implant, please inform our hospital coordinator or doctor again on the day of surgery.
- For outpatient surgery, discharge is possible after resting and receiving treatment. For patients requiring hospitalization, discharge is scheduled for the morning after surgery.
