Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a little update now that I’m 9 months post-op.

I had my surgery done at AB Plastic Surgery with Dr. Ma. I had rhinoplasty using my rib cartilage, some functional correction, alar reduction, jawline liposuction, and a thread lift.

At 9 months, my nose has continued to soften and settle, and my breathing is much better compared to before surgery. Overall, I’m really happy with how everything turned out.
My main goal was to improve my nose while still keeping it looking natural, and I feel like I got exactly that. I think it suits my face really well.

For me, the hardest part of recovery was honestly the first night after the surgery. Trying to sleep while only breathing through your mouth is horrible. Once the packing and cast came off, things got much easier.

And if you’re a gym person like me… prepare yourself 🥲I waited around 5 months before getting back into full heavy lifting.

I did have a scary moment around 7 months post-op when I got into an incident, was hit in the face and my nose started bleeding.
Even though I was already back in Australia, the clinic was still really supportive. They asked me to get a CT scan and send them the results so they could check everything. Thankfully, there was no damage and it didn’t affect my result. I’m really grateful to the AB team for still looking after me even from overseas.

My biggest ADVICE if you’re considering rhinoplasty is to really take your time and do your research. Don’t just choose the first clinic you find.
Before my surgery, I spent more than a month comparing different clinics, asking for quotes, looking through before-and-after results, and probably annoying clinics with a LOT of questions 😂. I also attended free consultations and even went to some Korean plastic surgery events here in Australia.

In the end, I chose AB mainly because I really liked the results I had seen from them. Looking back now, 9 months later, I’m glad I made that choice.
So definitely shop around, ask for before-and-after photos, prices, what’s included, recovery information, and anything else you want to know.
